Things to do in Mayur Vihar & East Delhi

East Delhi, from Mayur Vihar and Patparganj to Laxmi Nagar and Preet Vihar, is largely residential, with a busy community calendar rather than a bar strip. Swaminarayan Akshardham, opened in 2005, is its landmark, with exhibitions and an evening water show. The colonies run some of Delhi's largest neighbourhood Ramlilas and Durga Pujas, and Chhath Puja brings big gatherings to the Yamuna ghats and local water bodies each November. Malls and banquet halls along the arterial roads add comedy, garba and New Year's Eve events. The Blue Line runs through the area towards Noida, with the Pink Line crossing at Mayur Vihar-I.
