Heritage Walks & History Tours in Delhi
12 events coming up across Delhi NCR — mostly heritage (12). 1 is free.
Few cities have Delhi's density of history: three UNESCO World Heritage Sites (Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb and the Red Fort) and hundreds of protected monuments, many of them in ordinary neighbourhoods. Guided heritage walks are the best way in. Popular routes include Old Delhi's havelis, bazaars and mosques; the Mehrauli Archaeological Park, whose 200 acres hold more than 100 monuments from Lal Kot onwards; Nizamuddin Basti, the dargah and Humayun's Tomb, with Sunder Nursery next door; Hauz Khas's reservoir and madrasa; and the Lodhi Garden tombs. Walks usually start early in the morning in winter and late afternoon in shoulder seasons, and last two to three hours; monument entry is often extra. Many groups also run photo walks, storytelling walks and evening tours. This page lists guided heritage walks, history tours, monument events and museum tours across Delhi NCR, with meeting points and timings from the organisers.

Comfortable shoes, light layers and modest clothing, especially for walks that enter mosques, dargahs or temples, where you may need to cover your head and remove shoes.
