About India Habitat Centre

The India Habitat Centre (IHC) on Lodhi Road is a nine-acre campus designed by Joseph Allen Stein with Doshi and Bhalla. It opened in 1993 and houses organisations working on habitat and environment, alongside public cultural spaces. Habitat Programmes has run cultural events since 1997: dance, music, theatre, films, talks, poetry and book launches. The main venues are the Stein Auditorium, The Theatre, the open-air

Festival screenings are free but need passes: for HIFF 2026, non-members could book up to two passes per film, seating was first come, first served, and walk-ins were allowed only if seats were free. Late entry is strictly not allowed at IHC Theatre Festival shows. Ticketed plays are sold on BookMyShow and at the Habitat Programmes desk. Visitors can eat at Habitat Hub, an all-day resto-bar open 7 am to midnight, or at the Habiteria food court. MED and the Terrace Bar are only for members and their guests.
