About Little Theatre Group (LTG) Auditorium
The Little Theatre Group (LTG) is one of Delhi's oldest theatre societies. Its auditorium on Copernicus Marg, opposite Doordarshan Bhawan, is a fixture of the Mandi House theatre scene. Inder Lal Dass conceived LTG in 1946, staged its first production in Lahore in 1947 and regrouped the company in Delhi in 1948. In 1949 it hosted India's first All India Drama Festival. Its repertory, set up in 1972, calls itself the oldest running repertory in India. The main I.L. Dass Auditorium seats 327 and has a 32 x 34 ft stage. The Blank Canvas, a 50-seat black-box studio on the second floor, hosts experimental work, including LTG's The Next Act festival. Expect Hindi and English plays, musicals, Bharatanatyam and music recitals, and multi-play festivals such as Natyakumbh.
Tips before you go
- Most shows sell on BookMyShow, linked from ltgdelhi.org/events. A few recitals take bookings by phone, so check the listing.
- Check whether your show is in the I.L. Dass Auditorium or The Blank Canvas on the second floor, which has lift access.
- LTG is right next to Kamani Auditorium on Copernicus Marg, so check the hall name before you queue.
- Mandi House metro is about an 8-minute walk, which makes it easy to get home after late shows.
