About Central Park, Connaught Place
Central Park fills the middle of Connaught Place's inner circle and sits directly on top of Rajiv Chowk metro station, the Blue and Yellow Line interchange. Rebuilt in 2005โ06 after the station was built beneath it, the 41,500-square-metre park has lawns, flowering plants, four water features including a cascade, and a 350-seat amphitheatre for cultural programmes, according to Delhi Tourism. Since March 2014 it has flown a 90-by-60-foot national flag on a 207-foot pole that can be seen across CP. The New Delhi Municipal Council maintains the park, and its lawns and amphitheatre have hosted public events such as the Urdu Heritage Festival, Delhi government youth festivals and concert series such as Awam Ki Awaz. With CP's restaurants and bars a few steps away, it is easy to pair an open-air show with dinner.
