About Arun Jaitley Stadium
Arun Jaitley Stadium, known for most of its history as Feroz Shah Kotla, is Delhi's international cricket ground. It is owned and run by the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, near the ruins of Feroz Shah Kotla fort. The ground dates to 1883 and was renamed in September 2019 after the former DDCA president and Union finance minister Arun Jaitley. Anil Kumble took all ten Pakistani wickets in an innings here in 1999. The stadium has staged World Cup matches in 1987, 1996, 2011 and 2023, and has been the IPL home of the Delhi Capitals since 2008. Most ticketed events are IPL, WPL and international fixtures, plus Delhi's domestic matches.
Tips before you go
- Take the metro to Delhi Gate on the Violet Line. The stadium is about a five-minute walk away and roads around it are restricted on match days.
- The ground has many numbered gates. Your ticket shows which gate and stand to use, so head straight there rather than circling the stadium.
- Match-day security is strict. Carry ID and the bare minimum, and check the ticketing platform's prohibited-items list for bags, bottles and power banks.
- Evening IPL games finish late and the post-match metro rush is heavy. Walking towards ITO or Daryaganj before booking a cab can save time.
