About Alliance Française de Delhi
Alliance Française de Delhi, set up in 1956, is the city's main Indo-French cultural centre, on K.K. Birla Lane in Lodi Estate. It is best known for French classes and the DELF/DALF and TCF exams, but it is also a busy small venue. The 112-seat ML Bhartia Auditorium, with a 9.5 × 5 m stage, hosts film screenings and festivals, dance, intimate music recitals, theatre and seminars. The AFD Ciné Club screens French films on Thursday evenings in partnership with the French Embassy. Galerie Romain Rolland, a 180-square-metre gallery with a 40-foot-high glass section, mounts art exhibitions across genres. The calendar also includes bigger days such as the Bastille Day French Open Day and the Francophonie Mela, and the on-site Alma Café Français is open daily.
