Triveni Kala Sangam, at 205 Tansen Marg between the Mandi House roundabout and Bengali Market, is an arts centre that teaches and shows many art forms. The dancer Sundari K. Shridharani founded it in 1950, and its name means 'confluence of the arts'. Its building, one of architect Joseph Allen Stein's first in India, opened on 3 March 1963 and is known for its courtyards and jali screens. Triveni teaches dance, music
Most exhibitions and events are free and open to all, so you can drop in between shows at Mandi House. Allow time to see everything: the Shridharani and Triveni galleries, Art Heritage, Art Pilgrim, Gallerie Nvya and the Sculpture Court are all in one complex. Triveni's terrace café has been a meeting place for artists and students for decades and is good for tea and a snack.
