Weekend tips
- Saturday for Old Delhi, Sunday for parks. Chandni Chowk’s markets largely shut on Sunday, while Lodhi Garden and Sunder Nursery are at their liveliest.
- Mondays catch out long-weekend plans. Museums, Akshardham, the Lotus Temple and the Red Fort show all close on Monday.
- Book ahead for heritage walks, Rashtrapati Bhavan slots, The Piano Man and popular comedy shows.
- Use the metro. Most lines run from early morning until around 11 pm. The Pink Line is now a full ring, so Sarojini Nagar, INA, Lajpat Nagar and Rajouri Garden link up without a change.
- Watch the air from late October. Swap outdoor plans for indoor ones on bad days.
